One of the absolute highlights of our Meghalaya trip! We stayed only one night in Mawlyngbna, and honestly, our ONLY mistake was booking just one night. We simply didn't feel like leaving and wished we had kept a few more nights for this place. The adventure experiences here were incredible. We started with the Split Rock / Crevice Walk (Mawsiangjroi), which was unlike anything I had experienced before. We then did river canyoning and river trekking... walking through the river in the shallow sections, swimming through the deeper natural pools, navigating the rocks and doing cliff jumps along the way. Being able to experience all of this surrounded by raw nature, seemingly in the middle of nowhere, while still having everything properly guided and organised, was something special. A huge thank you to Chalzing and his team of local guides. They were warm, experienced and extremely supportive throughout the activities. The people of Mawlyngbna in general were incredibly kind and welcoming, and that became as memorable as the adventure itself. We also stayed at Gorgeview, Chalzing's property, and the location is something you have to experience to understand. The cottages sit on a rocky cliffside overlooking the vast plains of Bangladesh. One moment the entire landscape is completely clear... the next it disappears beneath the clouds and mist... and then suddenly opens up again. Day or night, the atmosphere is beautiful. For anyone travelling as a couple, with their partner or with family, the cottages are private, clean, well maintained and feel completely safe. The hospitality from the Gorgeview team was wonderful, and we were served delicious local Khasi style food during our stay. There is a wonderful sense of privacy and peace despite being in such a remote location. Mobile network can naturally be intermittent in a place this remote, although Jio and Airtel do work on and off. It honestly wasn't much of a concern. Chalzing and his team were always around and ready to help whenever required. Coming from Mumbai and urban life, the peace, privacy, wilderness and sheer rawness of this place were exactly what made it so memorable. It's adventurous without feeling chaotic, remote without making you feel unsupported, and incredibly peaceful once the activities are over. This was my first trip to Meghalaya, and the one thing I would change would be spending more nights in Mawlyngbna. Next time, I'm definitely staying for a few nights. Gorgeview for the stay and Chalzing and his team for the Mawlyngbna adventure experiences... wholeheartedly recommended. A genuinely one of a kind experience. Don't just visit Mawlyngbna. Mawlyngbna Adventure was an amazing experience. We tried split rocks and water trekking, and both were incredibly fun and adventurous. The guides were friendly and very helpful throughout. The best river trekking I have experience so far .Everything was exceptionally well organised and incredibly fun. The Split Rock path was incredibly adventurous, and the waterfall trekking offered wonderful views for scenic photography. The absolute best part of the trip was the water canyoning—natural pool swimming and water sliding are a must-try here! Kayaking was great too. A truly wonderful place! We have had an excellent trip to Mawlyngbna. At first i didn't know there were such beautiful places to visit. But now it was one of my best trip.Our two guides Ban and Donald are very helpful, caring and quite professional.We really enjoyed doing all the activities there.
